Are there others I'm not aware of? I need to find a blog that has a debate on this subject - a citizen's dialogue will be a lot more informative and trustworthy than the poo-flinging we're about to enter into... Poor Canada.
I don't have time to follow politics closely, but I would like to know: just how bad has this government been with respect to stretching (breaking) the established rules of democracy to front their ideological reforms in opposition to majority of Canadian will?
I know what you mean about not having enough time. It's hard to keep up with these guys. Hopefully someone has been keeping track.
Just off the top of my head though, the Harper conservatives prorogued parliament twice to either avoid a non-confidence vote or shut down inquiry into their activities. They have actively tried to disrupt and shut down parliamentary committees and indeed even had a little instruction booklet on how to do it made up. Instead of reforming the senate like they promised, they have instead stacked it with partisan senators, then when they had a majority, used it to block legislation, something that has never been done before. And finally, they are the first government to fall because they have been found in contempt of parliament.
And like I said, that's off the top of my head. There's lots more. I cannot believe people keep electing these jokers.
